Similar to our mitten game, we read Eric Carle's story 10 Little Rubber Ducks. We counted the ducks using our ordinal numbers.
I had 10 rubber ducks cut out, laminated, and taped onto popsicle sticks! I picked 10 students and had everyone else close their eyes. The 10 that were picked had to put themselves in order from first to tenth.
Once they were in order the other students opened their eyes, and I picked students and asked them to tell me who is hiding behind the 6th rubber duck. We continued this until all of our 10 ducks were uncovered!
